If you have a great sports bra that works for you, simply adapt it to a breastfeeding bra. There are directions at several internet sites. However, I didn’t find one that specifically addressed a sports bra.

Also, keep in mind that if you are more than a D cup, converting the bra may not work for your particular style bra because you need more support while actually nursing.

I think sports bras have just as much support. And I actually prefer them over my nursing bras because they're more comfortable, no itchy straps or wires. A nursing bra is a little easier but not much.

Yes! I did not even realize that it would help, my breast are on the large side and I could not for the life of me find a nursing bra to fit, so I always had to un snap my bra to feed, but then one day I was swearing a sports bra and it worked perfectly! so during the hole time I breastfed I wore a sports bra, and with my second baby I went straight to sports bra, and it has worked perfectly.

Sports bra are usually tighter and when nursing you lift the sports bra up over the breast which again is tight on the breast. This can block off some milk ducts during a feeding. It is usually recommended that women who want to not produce milk wear sports bra because of the tightness. I would not suggest to wear a sports bra. You need to buy a bra that allows the breast to not be compressed. Compression will slow the production of milk down.

You might want to try one and see if they work but for me they didn't work well. They were too tight when I was engorged and not easy to nurse with. I bought a few sleeping nursing bras and wore those for a while until I was able to buy more nursing bras to wear out of the house.

Meh, they both stop your boobs from shaking about so much, but the nursing bra will be easier when you want to flop one out etc. I say go for the sports bra.

What a wonderful Idea Pat. This is very good tool. There is much you could do with this and take these videos far. I’ll email some ideas. I look forward to hearing more of these videos.

Chanticlair has a right to express his thoughts. But that doesn’t mean that they are very good thoughts. If he doesn’t think that you are doign a good job he should run against you at our next CAP assembly.
